10 December 2025 (Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain): Dragon City Bahrain, the Kingdom’s largest wholesale and retail trade centre, held a special ceremony to mark its 10th anniversary at the Address Beach Resort Bahrain, in the presence of distinguished guests, dignitaries and media representatives. The celebration highlighted a decade of continuous growth and achievements that have cemented Dragon City Bahrain’s position as a leading hub for trade, tourism and investment, and one of the Kingdom’s key contributors to economic activity.
Among the notable attendees were Eng. Hamad Mohammed Al Jowder, Social Programmes and Community Affairs Director at Muharraq Governorate, and His Excellency Mr. Zhou Chunlin, Economic and Commercial Counselorat the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain. They were welcomed by Eng. Ahmed Al Ammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq and Board Member of Dragon City Bahrain, who expressed the company’s pride in this milestone and emphasised that support from public and private sector partners has been instrumental to the project’s success and its vital role over the past decade.
On the occasion, Eng. Al Ammadi stated: “Our celebration of Dragon City’s 10th anniversary reflects a decade filled with success and continuous growth, during which the mall has transformed into a fully integrated commercial, tourism, and investment destination welcoming millions of visitors each year. Today, it comprises more than 800 fully leased retail units, advanced logistical facilities, and sustainable operational solutions, including one of the Kingdom’s largest solar energy projects. The mall also plays a vital role in strengthening economic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People’s Republic of China, supported by government entities, partners, and dedicated teams. Looking ahead, we affirm that the next phase will include more strategic initiatives and expansions that reinforce the mall’s position as a leading economic and commercial centre. In this context, we are pleased to announce Dragon City Bahrain’s participation in Bahrain’s National Day Festivities by hosting a variety of celebrations, in addition to launching a major discount campaign for the first time, running until the end of the year.”
He added: “Over the past decade, Dragon City Bahrain has witnessed remarkable development across various fronts, not only in terms of commercial expansion and attracting a diverse range of brands, but also through enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability. Our integrated solar energy system, comprising more than ten thousand solar panels, has enabled us to reduce carbon emissions by 6,500 metric tons annually, supporting the Kingdom’s national energy strategy. The mall has also recorded a notable rise in footfall during 2025, reaching a daily average of over 23,000 visitors, reflecting the growing confidence in its role as a regional commercial hub and a key destination for shoppers.”
Meanwhile, the ceremony witnessed the launch of Dragon City Bahrain’s new Wi-Fi 7 network, introduced in collaboration with Batelco from Beyon and supported by Huawei, making Dragon City the first public destination in the Kingdom to offer this advanced level of connectivity. This enhancement reflects the mall’s commitment to adopting the latest technological innovations and elevating the experience of visitors and tenants through an advanced digital infrastructure that supports Bahrain’s digital transformation and reinforces Dragon City’s position as a destination that blends commerce, technology, and innovation.
